Gujarat Titans looked a well packed unit with their batting, bowling and fielding delivering in home and away games. Even though Hardik Pandya did not feature in today’s match, there was no setbacks in the lineup. Vijay Shankar replaced him in the eleven and played a splendid cameo in the middle. The first match of the Sunday double header turned out to be a high scoring match with KKR scoring 204. Gujarat Titans Vs KKR IPL Match was played in the Narender Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in front of a packed stadium.

Gujarat Titans Innings Summary –

The spin twins of KKR Narine and Varun looked just about helpless in front of the Ahmedabad crowd. Gill showed his prowess to tackle mystery spin. Sai Sudarshan carried on from where he left in the last match. Once Saha made his way back after 17 runs, the fearless young batters – Gill and Sudarshan took on the KKR bowlers in style. Just when Gill was looking to unleash further, Naraine came in. Gill took him on and unfortunately miscued it to long – on.

Abhinav Manohar walked in next and took Umesh Yadav apart. He hit him for three boundaries in a single over. Titans’ top three had set the platform. Now they needed to build on that. The deceptive Suyash came in with his googly that struck. Manohar played forward, expecting it turn away. In the process, he left a gap between the bat and pad. The ball spun back to beat the inside edge, brushed front pad and crashed into the stumps.

Meanwhile, Sai Sudarshan made KKR Number 3 his own by scoring a half century in 34 balls. Ever since Kane Williamson returned home to tend to his injured knee, Sai has filled in those big shoes without much ado. The hot weather, the spinning googlies or the pacer Ferguson could do little to rattle the young batter. It took the vast experience of Sunil Naraine to send him back to the dugout when he was at 53.

Vijay Shankar played a useful knock towards the end of the innings. He scored 63 runs in 24 balls, hitting Ferguson and Shardul Thakur all over the park for huge sixes. KKR reached 204 in their designated 20 overs.
