Usman Khawaja was not among the two sets of Australian players and staff that reached India by Tuesday night ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Test series. The left-handed opener’s travel plans had to be rescheduled after a delay in obtaining the visa.

Reports suggest that while a visa has been issued to Khawaja, the delay was caused because a physical copy of the same was unavailable by the time a second set of squad members left Australia on Tuesday. The 36-year-old Islamabad-born Khawaja will now fly out to Bengaluru on Thursday.
